We provide Cruagh Cemetery headstones, memorials and renovations & additional inscriptions.
Located at Cruagh road, Rockbrook, Rathfarnham, the old cemetery was active from the 1700 to 1900’s and the new cemetery was then opened beside it in 1945. Owned and managed by South Dublin county council the graveyard has approximately 900 plots of which 870 are occupied.
There are several prominent people buried here. Daniel A. Binchy, Tim Cahill-O’Brien, Hotelier James Patrick Digby, Business man. Margaret Gaj, Restauranteur. Capt. T.J. Hanley, Aviator. Seán Keating, Artist. Lt.Cmdr. Frank Lynch, Commander of the Irish Navy. Capt. Jack Millar, Aer Lingus pilot. Charles H. Murray, Civil Servant. Thomas O’Brien, Vice-President, I.T.G.W.U. John Gerard Olin. Dr. Hans Waldemar Rosen, Musician. P.A. Ó Síocháin, Barrister/Business man Prof. Brendan M. Walsh, Economist. Prof. Thomas Sherlock Wheeler, Chemist/Academic. Most Rev. Desmond Williams, Bishop.
